Here's something about our hostel inn Scotland:

When Columba crossed the sea from Ireland to settle on the small island of Iona off the West Coast of Scotland about 1500 years ago he would probably have understood well enough what was meant to 'Chase The Wild Goose'.  The Celtic people with whom he lived and walked had a deep appreciation of the natural environment, on which they relied for food, water, shelter, safety and wellbeing.  They sought a unique relationship with their environment, intertwined physically and spiritually, with the natural and super-natural.  Until Columba, the Celtic People of these shores had failed to grasp the deeper meaning and purpose of Life.  But he lead them and guided them along their way...

'Chase The Wild Goose'  began for us in the Summer of '97, when some close friends were meeting in a little sunlit garden, in the little village of Alva in Clackmannanshire, somewhere near the big city of Stirling, in the lea of the Ochil Hills.  That Summer followed the Spring when all our dreams appeared to be dashed on the rocks.  But Hope lead us into sunshine and our dreams began again to spring to life...

At 'Chase The Wild Goose Hostel' we aim to provide simple shared accommodation where you can meet with like-minded people, perhaps share a meal with them, talk or even walk with them for a while.  We hope you can find courage to try something new.  We hope you can rest awhile for refreshment of body and spirit.  We hope you can experience that unique relationship with your environment, intertwined physically and spiritually, with the natural and super-natural.  We hope you can grasp the deeper meaning and purpose of Life.  We hope your dreams can again spring to life...

If you want to discover more of what lies behind the name of 'Chase The Wild Goose' then come and stay with us, and we will help you along your way...

Meantime, please tell all your friends, family, colleagues, teachers, lovers, everyone about our new hostel, and tell them to check our website.  If you wish to guess what the meaning of the 'Wild Goose' is, please email us ..!
