You are advised to arrange your own insurance should the need for cancellation arise. 

Please note that these terms and conditions over-ride those of our agency partners

BOOKING CONFIRMATION & CANCELLATION 

INDIVIDUALS:    

·      The 1st night’s accommodation is payable as a deposit and is non-refundable. In the event of cancellation we reserve the right to charge this from the payment card, less any partial deposit already paid either directly or through an agent 

·          The full balance due will be charged on arrival or on failure to show. 

·          Cancellation - only payment for the 1st night is forfeit if more than 48 hours written notice has been given.  If less than 48 hours written notice has been given the FULL value of the booked accommodation is chargeable 

·        Part cancellation- the 1st night’s accommodation is payable for all persons. Overnight charges for subsequent nights will be re- calculated based on the actual number staying, but the 48 hour rule will still apply. 

GROUPS      (9+ guests) 

·     A 20% deposit is payable against the total cost to secure a booking. This is immediately chargeable to the initial payment card and is non-refundable.

·    The full balance will be charged from card automatically 6 weeks (42 days) prior to arrival, or payment by cheque for the balance is acceptable, if agreed in advance. 

·           A maximum of 2 payments may be made, one for the deposit and one for the balance due.  Multiple payments will be charged an additional fee of GBP 1.00 per payment, over and above any credit card processing fees. 

·            Changes to numbers are accepted up until 6 weeks prior to arrival.   If numbers are reduced within the 6 weeks prior to arrival no refund will be payable.   Numbers may be added to within the 6 week period at our discretion and will be charged at the prevailing rate. 

·            Group Cancellation - only the paid deposit of 20% is forfeit if more than 6 weeks (42 days) written notice has been given prior to arrival  

·            If cancelled between 41 and 21 full days written notice of cancellation has been received prior to arrival then50% of the full amount due will be retained/charged 

·    If cancelled with less than 21 days notice no refund will be given 

CARD PAYMENTS: 

 A 2% processing fee will be charged on credit card payments (minimum £1.00 per transaction) by MASTERCARD and VISA.  We do not accept payment by American Express.   There is no processing fee on DEBIT cards e.g. Maestro, Delta, Electron, Solo.  

Cheques are not accepted except for payment by groups of more than 10 persons. Group booking conditions apply.  

BEHAVIOUR 

Please be aware that we take the safety, security and comfort of all our guests very seriously.  

We reserve the right to charge on arrival a security deposit/key deposit of GBP(£)10 per person. This will be forfeit in the event of any loss of room key/disturbance caused to other guests/loss of income resulting. We reserve the right to charge for any damage caused in full. Smoking is not permitted in the premises.   Guests found smoking in any building or outhouse will be required to leave the premises without further recourse or refund of fees 

EXCLUSIVE USE RENTALS: 

Standard 'Groups' Terms and Conditions apply, as above  

LATE ARRIVALS and LATE DEPARTURES:       

ARRIVALS:      Guests may normally book into the hostel from 1700 to 2230 hours. (Once booked into the hostel guests have full 24-hour access until departure day). Day guests not staying overnight will be charged at £5.00 per person

LATE ARRIVALS:    Arrivals after 2230 hours are at the manager's discretion.  A charge of GBP 5.00 PER PERSON will be levied for arrivals after 2230. (If you anticipate arriving later than 2230 hrs please call the hostel in advance). 
STRICTLY NO ARRIVALS AFTER 12 MIDNIGHT - Arrivals after midnight will not be admitted and will not be entitled to a refund. 

DEPARTURES:       Guests must depart the hostel by 1030 hours on departure day. Guests may continue to use the dining and lounge facilities between 1030 and 1200 mid-day for a payment of GBP 5.00 PER PERSON. After 1200 mid-day the full overnight charge will be payable. On departure day there is no access to bedrooms after 1030, as cleaning will be in progress 

SPECIAL OFFERS: 

Special Offers are available on the following terms: 

They are available only for the period stated in advertising  
Unless otherwise stated they are to be fully pre-paid and are non-refundable and non-transferable. 
Short Break special offers of more than 2 nights are payable in full and are non-refundable 
Special offers are available only for the first 16 guests per night  
All special offers are 'stand alone' and are not available in conjunction with any other offer. 

CHILDREN:      

Children under 18 years must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.  We regret we are unable to accommodate children under 5 years without prior written agreement.  

COOKING:    

A self-catering kitchen is available. Cooking in bedrooms is not permitted as it would invalidate our insurance. Individuals responsible for any damage caused to premises and/or consequential loss which is the result of cooking in bedrooms will be pursued to the full extent possible under Scottish law for any uninsured loss.   Cooking in the kitchen may be restricted between 11.00pm and 7.00am and between 10.30am and 5.00pm  

ACCESS:         

Access to various parts of the building and facilities may be limited on occasion to meet Health & Safety requirements. Residents ONLY are permitted access to the hostel unless agreed with the Hostel Management, when an additional charge will be made.  

Guests must carry out any reasonable request by staff which is in the interest of health and safety, security and comfort of our guests. 

NB.      We reserve the right to change our Prices to meet changing market conditions.  The price quoted to you when you book will be the amount payable.  Bookings through an agency may be at a higher price due to commissions payable and booking fees.  In the event that   we have to cancel your booking for any reason a full refund will be given, with no liability for any consequential loss.  Guests may, on occasion, be accommodated in a larger or smaller room, as operational requirements dictate, unless a 'private' room (with shared bathroom facilities) has been requested. 

These terms may reasonably be varied from time to time.
