Be inspired - a hostel near Ben Nevis Fort William popular with Climbers, Walkers and Backpackers

'This is the Outdoor Capital of the UK'

If you love the Great Outdoors you will enjoy all on offer in the Lochaber region of the Scottish Highlands in Scotland. On the hostel doorstep at Banavie is the famous 'Neptune's Staircase' on the Caledonian Canal which leads from Corpach and Loch Linhe, in the in the South, through Loch Lochy and Loch Ness, and on to Inverness in the North.  Many visitors choose to climb Ben Nevis, Britains highest mountain, as part of the 3-peaks Challenge, going on to climb Scafel Pike and Snowdon. Others come to see Old Inverlochy Castle, and there is kayaking on the fast-flowing rivers, mountain biking on the Nevis Range and long distance walking along the Great Glen Way and West Highland Way

The imposing Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK, is located a little to the East, and the famous Road to the Isles runs by the door. If you just want some NOISE...! the town of Fort William  is just 2 miles away with many exciting bars and traditional Scottish Music. To eat out near to the hostel there is none better for generous, hearty portions than the Lochy Bar , just 200 yards away, near the Caledonian Canal, or the Moorings Hotel for a finer experience.

Ben Necis and Caledonian Canal

Take a walk along the Great Glen Way, or commence your southward walk to Glasgow along the West Highland Way. There are forest trails and waterfalls along Glen Nevis too.
